08 Feb Passport reminders for Canadian Travellers
Passport Updates – Dominican Republic:
Starting May 1, Canadians will be required to present a valid passport to visit the Dominican Republic. Until then, Canadians entering the Dominican Republic by direct air travel are only required to be in possession of valid official photo identification (such as a driver’s license) and proof of citizenship (such as a birth certificate). Canadian tourists must also be in possession of a return airline ticket.
Passport Update – Mexico:
Our friends at WestJet Vacations have recently had issues with Mexican customs for denied/refusal of entry due to damaged, torn and water stained damage to the BIO PAGE of passports. They have received updates from these authorities advising that guests who arrive with any of the above damage will be denied access to the country. All guests are reminded to double check passports for any type of damage to the bio page that may be of concern as the airlines are responsible to check for this damage upon check in to ensure compliance. If there is anything of concern, I suggest contacting the Mexican consulate.
